At KidooLand, teaching is fun and varied with the focus on learning through play; Art, music, games, role play, fils, story time, puppets, danse, cooking and more children enjoy an immersion in English, French ! Children come to Kidooland for a couple of hours a week in addition to their existing school our day care programme or for those who have not yet been allocated a space at school they can join our "Get ready for school" programme. We also run KidooCamps in the holidays and will have this summer special workshops for very fluent English speaking children. |

OUR METHOD Chez KidooLand, our approach is fun within a planned structure. Using games, music, props and supports we enjoy a multitude of activities all in the chosen language. We have lots of experience working with beginners up to bilinguals even within the same group. We do this by pitching language at the right level so if we are talking about animals on a farm for a beginner it would be the indivdual nouns and for an advanced speaker we would ask whether lions are found on farms and if not, why not? KidooLand has a very international theme with members exchanging in a variety of languages - it's a great atmosphere to expose your child to.
GOOD PRONUNCIATION Using Leaders who have a level equivalent to mother tongue it is a total immersion into the language. When your child is 3-9 years old they will learn very quickly and are able to imitate the phonemes with ease. Unlike teens and adults they are a lot less inhibited at trying and will soon be correcting you!
THE RESULT : At the end of a year, if your child has done over 90 hours they should be able to understand the Leader and the class "rules" , they should be able to communicate basic everyday language and will be starting to communicate back to the Leaders and other Anglophones in this language. This mental gymnastics keeps the brain in shape, we know that the brain is underused and you are giving your child a real opportunity to exploit this. Multilinguisme isn't just about speaking several languages, it's about opening the mind, new paths in the future, work and travel opportunities .. a springboard to a successful future.
WHEN? Children come to Kidooland a couple of hours a week - it's extra curriculaire in addition to school or creches, or if you haven't got a pre-school place then a chance to mix with others before the big first day.We also run a very popular and successful programme in the holidays.
